Over the past few days – when not stressing insanely over former East German feminist writers (yawn-some) – I’ve been thinking about getting down to delving through all the Spring Summer ’11 collections on GQ and filtering through for my favourites (Michael of Anastasia & Duck has already done a major job, by the way)…
BUT it seems that what I’d had in mind for the coming months has been pretty much summed up by Karim Sadli‘s latest shoot for the Autumn Winter 2010/11 issue of London-based men’s mag, Man About Town. I know, AW 2010/11 – just goes to show how off my trends-radar is. Still, I’ll be spending part of Spring in Dublin and although the climate’s temperate, knits and outerwear don’t really go back to the bowels of the wardrobe until well into high Summer.
Featuring skateboarding Spaniard Kilian Martin, the shoot brings together a great curation of classic (but not tear-inducingly boring) pieces to give the feeling of a 1950s-era mash-up of everything from mod- to rockabilly-inspired styles. Although it’s all pretty desirable, the Harrington jacket below is begging to be bought.

Also, who knew skateboarders made such incredible models!?

I thought of The Baseballs" and their rockabilly knock-off sound when staring into those images. There are Nnot enough Buff coloured socks in my opinion.Fashion Rambler.
How far on the 'sk8r boi' look has deviated and glad I am too! Charming men with a wardrobe to match.
I love this editorial. I did some reconnaissance and interviewed Kilian Martin. When you have a second you should take a gander, http://adentrostyle.blogspot.com/2011/01/meet-sk8er-boy.htmlAnd ye, from the shoots I've worked on a lot if not all male models a skaters.love your blog!A
