One of the most popular fashion x music stories last year revolved around Mancunian synth-pop duo Hurts, otherwise known as Theo Hutchcraft and Adam Anderson. Since I’m no music blogger, I’ll refrain from attempting any kind of critical review of their actual tunes. Instead, I think it’s time to concentrate on the considerably more superficial, yet equally important matter of their clothes.
In an interview with Hit the Floor magazine, frontman Theo attempts to flesh out the relationship between the band’s musical nuances and their fashion image, spewing gems of profundity such as “Style-wise I like […] old people! Old people are cool. They dress cool.”….my mind is blown.
Still, whilst Theo might not be the best for waxing lyrical about what they wear, it doesn’t really matter all that much given how well they wear. Suits, shirting, and side-parted (Theo) and close-cropped (Adam) hair are the staples of these David Lynch-loving pop-fans, with more modern/subversive elements like earrings thrown in for good measure.

So, much like their music, it’s all about a sometimes brilliantly executed, sometimes ever so slightly disappointing mash-up of the classic and the current. Too harsh? Or not harsh enough?

i like ❝better than love❞, downloaded it a few months ago. thought they have great style, sometimes very dior homme-ish.
though they're not very eloquent, their style sure does make up for it! i love the pleated shirt! i love how it's only a "half" design.i agree with the above comment, their style is very uber-rich-french-chic!
