It seems that each time I leave Dublin things (fashion-wise at least) get that bit more interesting in my absence. Take, for example, the appearance of this – Le Cool Dublin‘s men’s fashion special – which, I suppose, goes some way in marking the Irish acknowledgement that not only women take an active interest in what they’re putting on their backs.
Taking an anti-fashion attitude as their departure point, the team including stylist Angela Scanlon (genuine babe and one of Ireland’s finest in fashion) and photographer Johnny Savage (who I – prior to this – wasn’t familiar with but am now all over) composed a set of looks from some covetable pieces from homegrown indie boutique Indigo & Cloth and Brown Thomas. The result is decidedly spare but all the more believable for it. Finally, an editorial that understands what the vast majority of Irish men want from fashion.
