Orient Watches was originally founded in Tokyo in 1950 but its roots reach way back to the beginning of the 20th century. Over time it’s garnered a reputation for championing the mechanical watch and is revered for its men’s watches which combine ecological-awareness with a sleek, yet exciting aesthetic (see the cdbaa003a, a model from the semi-skeleton (fashion forward gothic designs…WANT) range). Its design philosophy deems high-quality craftsmanship of crucial importance and the overall look is sophisticated but not in that staid, fuddy-duddy sense so often associated with time-honoured watch-manufacturers…
TO WIN THE WATCH: Simply leave a comment (being sure to state your name) on this post, in which you give a statement regarding the Orient Watch range. Anything at all. I’m not the fussy type. EDIT: Please send an email including your full name to cillian[at]male-mode.com with Orient Watch as the subject.
Note: Competition closes September 26th! Winner will be selected using Random.org

Not bad lookin' at all! Classy enough for a dinner date, but casual enough for a regular day. What's the significance of the 3 stars on the faceplate?

As a student of Japanese culture and language, I frequently get to speak with exchange students from Japan and I always notice how positively fetching their wrist-wear is. I want to fit in when I'm in Japan next year so I'd love this slick watch! 🙂
