Mediocre (more marvellous, actually) Success.

September 7, 2009
Not having a great deal of money at any one time (or ever, really…), I’ve never given much thought to the receptacle that holds the little funds I do possess. The wallet I’ve had for much of my adolescence was purchased in one of those excitement-inducing rummage boxes in my local Topman for the sum of €4 or thereabouts.

A simple grayscale affair, the wallet’s covered in a Union Jack print and offered ample room for library and loyalty cards etc. However, just like the best of us it is getting on and looking that bit worse for wear and so I’ve embarked on another e-trek to secure a wardrobe (or is it more bag..?) staple.

A rifle through Oki-ni.com is somewhat fruitful in that I love everything but can afford nothing.

^ Raf Simons Magnet – Blue, black and shiny. I mean, you’d think Raf fashioned it specially for me…

^ Martin Margiela Discoball – The enigmatic artisan goes d-i-s-c-o.

The same re: Matches. More delectable possibilities. Unlikely possibilities.

^ Marc Marmel Red Cracked Leather Wallet – a) Red cracked leather & b) simultaneously distressed and decadent.

^ YSL Blue Stamped Wallet – A more souped-up grayscale alternative.

Buuut I’ve a lump of store credit for use in Circus so Swiss-wiz Eveline Enri’s Mediocre Success is looking much more appealing. More specifically a black, pleated nappa leather hotty that’s been making eyes at me across the shopfloor over the weekend. Time to seal the deal, I reckon…

That Marc Marmel Red Cracked Leather Wallet looks so good, but £166? I'm sorta new to this whole high street fashion stuff, but damn that's expensive. I need to get myself a wallet also. Can hopefully get a nice price via my sister's Zara employee discount.
