I know bloggers being plastered all over newspapers and major online media homepages is no breaking news item, but each time I receive a press mention I do – not gonna lie – get a little bit giddy. A couple of days ago I got an email from Daisy Greenwell at The Times who was penning a feature for Young Times on young fash-bloggers and their style advice for 2011 (this, on the back of news of 8-year-old Romeo Beckham’s placing eighth in GQ’s 50 Best Dressed Men list).
Hilariously, my mug is to be seen in this feature, which appeared in yesterday’s paper. Going all naval once again with Breton stripes, I dressed for the lulz on the day of the shoot and recommend you all do the same in the coming year. After all, fashion is – despite Devil Wears Prada-related stereotypes – fun.

Since I actually haven’t got my paws on a copy just yet, I’m making like fellow featured blogger Carrie (of WishWishWish) and posting the pic and text that appeared rather than a photo of the page itself.
While the onset of a new year, and its call for resolutions, might tempt you into thinking you should take note of, and fastidiously adhere to, trends, it’s a much better idea to promise yourself you’ll wear what you love rather than what you’re being told to love by the fashion illuminati. Lately, I’ve become obsessed with all things naval and sailor-esque, and although Breton stripes probably passed their use-by-date at the end of Summer 2010, I’m not sure I care! This year, it’s all about dressing for fun. Wear what inspires you.
Holla at Behind the Seams, Flying Saucer (who recommended me – ta!) and Llymlrs who were also featured. And thanks muchly to Ali of Soooali.com and Martin for the photo-aid!
Oh congratulations and you're looking very dapper indeed! Agreed on the fashion is fun thinkings – as once again I have the shoulder pads in… 🙂 xx

congrats! you deserve it seeing as you write so well!
Congratulations, you really deserved it ! 🙂
I'd get giddy too! The time when one tires of any media coverage is a sad day, it means blogging is a chore or their ego has been maxed to the limit.Dressing for fun! I like this advice. Its what i've been doing so far this year.
PS. Selina is such a sweetheart!
