I’m happy to support the #MYO30 #EASPartner campaign, sponsored by EAS Sports Nutrition at Walgreens. I have been compensated for this post. However, all opinions are my own.
If you’ve followed my advice closely and watched your carbohydrate intake you should have been able to lose as much as 5 pounds each week while following the Get-Lean Diet Plan. It should be noted, however, that for a longer lasting effect, it is recommended to aim for a loss of about 2-3 pounds when setting personal weight loss goals. This creates a more subtle change that will help decrease your chance of rapidly gaining all of the weight back. Important tip: To maintain reliability with your weight loss, use the same scale at the same time each week for your weigh-in.
If you can’t seem to lose weight, you may need to make some additional changes. Along with the exercise program, you can increase your cardio to two sessions per day. Another way to increase weight loss is to lower your carbohydrate intake. Instead of eating 100 grams on a low day, eat 60-80 for two days before doing a high carb day of 150 grams.
Remember that properly fueling your body will help you to lose fat and increase energy. Following the Get-Lean Diet Plan strictly will result in a leaner body within 30 days.
Three Favorite Healthy Foods
Here are some suggestions for great foods to eat while trying to lose weight.
Egg Whites – Not only are these easy to make, but they are fat free, cholesterol free, and packed with protein.
Oatmeal – Oatmeal will make you feel fuller longer because it is low in sugar and high in fiber. This versatile food can be made quickly and easily on the go.
Green Vegetables – Green vegetables not only contain vitamins and minerals, they also have fiber to help increase digestion. Also, they are not calorie dense, so you can eat a lot to fill yourself up without packing on the calories. They also only have a few grams of carbohydrates per cup. Vegetables can be easily steamed for a few minutes over boiling water to soften them to taste.
Maintain Weight Loss
After the program is over, you want to maintain your new slimmer body. This can be done easily while still having flexibility with your diet. First off, eat a healthy, clean breakfast. For example, fix 1/2 cup of dry oats with water and top with 1/2 cup of strawberries. On the side, have 6 scrambled egg whites with one yolk. This meal will provide the fiber and protein needed to power through your morning. If you are looking for some more variety, you can switch out the oatmeal with a small bagel or whole-wheat toast, and a different fruit of choice.
During the day, be sure to have a protein shake or protein bar as a midday meal. I enjoy the EAS Myoplex Original Ready To Drink Chocolate Fudge for a quick recharge.
Especially during your workout I recommend fueling your body with protein as well. I enjoy the EAS 100% Whey Protein Powder Chocolate, my new favorite.
Be sure to eat a clean and healthy dinner at home that includes a source of lean protein, whole grains, and green vegetables. This could be one portion of halibut or red snapper with 1 cup of broccoli and 1/2 cup of brown rice.
Make sure you take advantage of the Walgreens promotion which is still valid through September 24th: EAS Myoplex Original Ready To Drink Chocolate Fudge, 4 pk are on sale for $10.99 and EAS 100% Whey Protein Powder Vanilla and Chocolate 2.0lb are $19.99 each!
As long as most of your meals are clean, you can allow yourself to eat out every once in a while. The goal is to have an overall lifestyle change that has lasting power, not to restrict yourself.
